She continued modelling until Vinod Khanna decided to cast her opposite his son Akshaye Khanna in Himalay Putra in 1997. However, Bipasha declined the offer thinking she was too young for it.

Debut delayed

Even Jaya Bachchan wanted Bipasha opposite her son Abhishek Bachchan in J. P. Dutta’s Aakhari Mughal. But, the film was cancelled and Bipasha was offered Refugee opposite Suneil Shetty. But she declined the offer.

Ajnabee

In 2001, Bipasha made her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Ajnabee. The film also had Kareena Kapoor Khan and Bobby Deol. Ajnabee worked well but it was not a big hit. However, Bipasha became a big star post this movie released.

Bipasha’s success

However, it was after Raaz in 2002, Bipasha became one of the most popular stars. Raaz was a commercial success, becoming the third highest-grossing Hindi film of the year. Bipasha was also nominated for Filmfare award for this performance.

Married Karan

She then did many films like Jism, No Entry, Phir Hera Pheri, Dhoom 2, Corporate, Omkara, Race and others. She became a big star after these successful films but soon, the down fall started. In 2014, she met Karan Singh Grover on the sets of Alone. They fell in love and got married in 2016. In 2022, they welcomed their baby girl, Devi Basu Singh Grover. However, Alone was a big flop.

Creating drama

She is missing from the entertainment industry for a long time now. It has been 10 years. She is happy with her daughter and husband. However, recently grabbed attention when Mika Singh accused her of creating drama. Speaking to KADAK YouTube channel she said, “I took a team of 50 to London for a month-long schedule. However, it was extended to two months. Karan and Bipasha created a lot of drama. They were a married couple, so I booked a single room for them. But, they were like, ‘No, we need our separate rooms.’ I didn’t understand the logic. They then demanded to move to a different hotel. We did that as well.
