This time again, he shared a story in which he calls out a ‘basic-to-bad’ singer who recently performed in front of the large crowd. In his post, the music composer called the performance ’embarrassing’ and Reddit has decided to decode the same.
On Reddit, a user shared a screenshot of Vishal Dadlani’s Instagram story. It reads, “I’m really sorry, but when you put a basic-to-bad singer in front of a large crowd on a large stage, all you’re doing is showing more people that the individual can’t really sing, and that sadly, systemds within labels in India aren’t geared towards really promoting the best we have. I’ve just seen some clips, and my gosh… How embarrassing! For the Country, the artiste, the public, as well as “the scene.”
Redditors wonder if he is talking about Jasleen Royal’s performance during the Coldplay concert in Navi Mumbai. The singer’s performance was criticised earlier by some people on social media. One person commented under the Reddit post, ‘Seems like he is referring to Jasleen Royal’s performance during Coldplay’s concert in Mumbai’. Another wrote, “Its harsh but I agree. Clips I’ve seen of Jasleen are quite embarassing tbh…”

One more Reddit user commented, “I agree with his point. I mean, come on, Shreya was in the crowd, and she would have been perfect for the performance—or even Sunidhi. Compared to Elyana, Jasleen seemed so nervous, and her voice was shaky and even broke while singing. As he mentioned, it doesn’t reflect well on the reputation either.” “Whatever clips I watched were embarrassing. Her voice sounded too amateurish on stage and not the voice of a competent singer. Don’t know whether she was nervous or what. But it doesn’t reflect well on the Indian singers scene,” reads one more comment.
