Twinkle Khanna has been one of the most talked about celebrities. She started her career in acting in 1995. She did many movies but soon shifted to writing. She is now a popular writer and host. She is the daughter of superstar Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia had a huge age gap. They got married in the 1970s when Dimple Kapadia was just in her teenage and Rajesh Khanna was much older to her. In 1980s they got separated as well. When Twinkle Khanna spoke about Rajesh Khanna, Dimple Kapadia’s separation

However, Twinkle Khanna witnessed the disintegration of her parents’ marriage and it did affect her. In 2018, during the launch of her book, Pyjamas Are Forgiving, Twinkle spoke to her friend, Karan Johar about the most difficult time. She spoke about how life was like after her parents’ separation. She said she admires how her mother, Dimple Kapadia conducted herself after the separation with Rajesh Khanna. She shared that everything she has been writing about seems to be about women finding their place in the world, about the chafing between what a woman is, and what she is meant to be.

She had her mother’s image in her head and spoke about the time they stayed in her grandmother’s house. She shared how the same room and she used to sleep with her sister on the floor while her mother slept with her sister. She shared that her mother would wake up at 5 am and put on Jane Fonda tape on mute and do her workout.

Dimple Kapadia would then go for work and did three shifts. Twinkle shared that her mother returned by 9 pm and every complained and had a smile on her face. This made Twinkle realise that a woman doesn’t have to rely on anyone, besides herself. She believed that men were okay, it was enjoyable to have them like a dessert, but they were certainly not the main course.

Twinkle Khanna tied the knot in 2001 with actor Akshay Kumar. They have two kids Aarav and Nitara.
