Swara Bhasker trolled for slamming people being upset by ‘fimy torture’ in Chhaava, not Maha Kumbh tragedy; ‘This offends us more than Allahbadia…’

Swara Bhasker is known for her strong opinions on social media. The actress has invariably been politically active and never shied away from sharing whatever she believes is wrong. Recently, Swara took to Twitter to slam those who are outraging over the ‘torture’ people had to deal with in Vicky Kaushal’s recently released film Chhaava. In the film, Vicky portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, and Swara pointed out how there’s no outrage over the numerous deaths due to the recent stampede.
On February 19, Swara wrote, “A society that is more enraged at the heavily embellished, partly fictionalised, filmy torture of Hindus from 500 years ago than they are at the horrendous death by stampede & mismanagement + then alleged JCB bulldozer handling of corpses – is a brain & soul-dead society. #IYKYK”
In the comments, netizens have strongly reacted to Swara Bhasker’s post regarding the comparison between Chhaava and recent stampede. Many expressed differing opinions on the film’s portrayal and her perspective. The reactions have led to a debate online.
“You might want to flip open a history book. Sambhaji Maharaj’s reign, his resistance against Aurangzeb, and his brutal execution in 1689 are well documented, not dreamt up. As for Mughal atrocities, the destruction of temples, forced conversions, and countless accounts from contemporary sources like the Maasir-i-Alamgiri aren’t fairy tales they’re facts. Denying them doesn’t make them vanish it just makes your grasp of history look a little shaky,” wrote an X user.
Another person commented, “@Dev_Fadnavis Ji @himantabiswa Ji This offends us more than an Allahbadia quote. Enough is enough! She has repeatedly and deliberately hurting our sentiments, showing a pattern of disrespect. We humbly request you to take necessary action. The continuous disrespect towards Hindus Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is unacceptable. Our patience has limits.” One more person wrote, “Living in Maharashtra and the audacity to call the torture on Chhatrapati Shivaji by barbariam Mughals as fictional! So unfaithful!”
