Parth Samthaan REVEALS surprising reason behind his exit; ‘Time for me to step aside…’
Actor Parth Samthaan – who entered CID 2 after Shivaji Satam’s exit – is quitting the show. The actor has now revealed surprising reason behind his exit.
CID is one of the most popular shows on television screens. After almost more than five years, the crime drama CID returned to the TV screens with its second season. Shivaji Satam aka ACP Pradyuman, Dayanand Shetty aka Daya, Aditya Srivastava aka Abhijeet, and the team returned and added to the excitement of fans. But, fans were disappointed when Shivaji Satam marked his exit from the show and his character died in CID 2. The makers of CID season 2 oped in Parth Samthaan to play the role of ACP Ayushmann. Shivaji Satam’s fans were upset with Parth relacing the OG ACP, but the latter’s fans were beaming with joy seeing the handsome star in a cop role.
Parth Samthaan has now confirmed that he is exiting the show. To entertainment news portal Tellychakkar, the star confirmed that he would be bidding farewell to CID as his character nears its end. Speaking candidly, the actor shared, “I was brought in for a special appearance, which later got extended. But now, with Shivaji sir returning to the show, it’s time for me to step aside and make way for the original ACP Pradyuman.” Parth’s entry in the second season of CID brought a wave of freshness to the show. In the earlier episodes, ACP Ayushman was seen in a tense phone call and says, “Everything is going according to plan,” while Abhijeet and Daya looked upset working with him.
Speaking about the show, Parth was quoted by Pinkvilla saying that he is grateful for all the love he has been receiving. He said that he has other work commitments lined up and will not be able to continue for long.
Parth had earlier admitted that he rejected the role as he had doubts about replacing the iconic character. The second season of CID premiered in December 2024 and is streaming on SonyLiv.
On the work front, before CID 2, Parth was seen in Kasautii Zindagi Kay 2. The actor focused on films and web series. He returned to TV after a gap of five years and was seen in CID 2.
