Smriti Irani reveals she did not audition for Aamir Khan starrer Dil Chahta Hai

Smriti Irani shares she watched one of the films she refused to audition for. It was Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna starrer Dil Chahta Hai. People called her mad trying to reason with her that the movie is Dil Chahta Hai. She clarifies that she was not offered the role of Preity Zinta in the movie but some other girl, another lead in the story. Smriti shares that she did not audition because she knew she was not going to do the movie. Not even for the lack of it or even to stand next to a film star. She was very clear about her professional goals and expressed that she doesn’t regret not doing the movie. Smriti Irani talks about why she refused to audition for Dil Chahta Hai

The reason why Smriti Irani did not audition for Dil Chahta Hai is because she wanted to go the family way. She was very sure that she didn’t want to do the movie because she wanted to have a baby by then. The Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi actress shares that she would refuse to make appearances at weddings or get money for integrating some shop. She was clear about the trajectory of her career and also had familial responsibilities. Smriti shared she did not want to embarrass anyone be it his family members, her colleagues or even in politics. She wanted to live life with dignity and would then put forth that there are certain things she can and cannot do.
