Shah Rukh Khan was disappointed by the iconic helicopter scene in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, read why
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is one of the most loved Shah Rukh Khan movies. Directed by Karan Johar, it also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Rani Mukerji. It is Karan’s second movie after his directorial debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The movie is loved for its drama, romance, dialogues, and many memorable moments. One such moment is SRK, aka Rahul Raichand’s entry scene.
SRK’s disappointment over the entry scene
If you are a K3G fan, you must be feeling all the emotions when Rahul makes the iconic entry by getting down from a helicopter. Just like Jaya Bachchan, we all await Shah Rukh Khan’s entry to the story. It has been cited as one of SRK’s best entry scenes. But did you know Khan was initially disappointed by the scene from K3G?
On Cyrus Says, Nikkhil Advani revealed that initially, Shah Rukh Khan thought he would just jump out of the helicopter and step down. That is all his entry scene was going to be. However, during the scene, the team narrated to SRK exactly what was going to happen. ‘When we told him that his entry in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is with the helicopter. He thought he was going to jump off the helicopter, while he just had to step down. The scene was more about Jaya Bachchan; she gets to know about the arrival of her son as soon as he touches the ground.”
In the same interview, Advani revealed that it was Shah Rukh Khan who choreographed the entire basketball sequence in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Hence, he gets credits before the movie begins, under the section “thrills.”. “It is because he treated the basketball sequence in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai like an action scene. He choreographed it.”
