Shah Rukh Khan reacts to hosting IIFA 2024, ‘Itni taareef kar rahe ho, bulaya toh ek hi baar…’
At the IIFA 2024 press conference held in Mumbai, excitement is building for one of cinema’s biggest award shows, set to take place at UAE’s Yas Island this year. The anticipation is even higher as Shah Rukh Khan will be hosting the event alongside Karan Johar. Fans are thrilled to see the actor-director duo take centre stage and rock the night with their dynamic chemistry.
During the press conference, Karan Johar humourously asked SRK about hosting the awards after such a long gap. Shah Rukh Khan responded playfully, “Itni taareef kar rahe ho, bulaya toh ek hi baar tha na pehle. ‘Shah Rukh Khan aa raha hai, Shah Rukh Khan aa raha hai…’ Ek baar bulaya host karne ke liye, usme 10 saal ke baad bula rahe hai. Aise hi taareef kar raha hai, likh ke leke aaya hai.”
The Jawan actor went on to say, “Feels really nice to be here. Thank you IIFA for having me. I’m joking, ab clarify karna padta hai na ke joke kar rahe hai, seriously nahi bol rahe hai. I would have loved to always come. But unfortunately for some reason or another, I was working at the point IIFA has been hosted, all around the world. Which makes us very, very proud.”
Shah Rukh Khan also joked about how the event is often held in international locations like Toronto or Malaysia. The superstar added with a smile, “Yaha kar lo na. Borivali mein kar lo, Film City mein kar lo jaise baaki log karte hai yaar. But their vision is big. IIFA has always thought of taking Indian cinema to a global level, and now with the inclusion of Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema, this is even more Indian than it has ever been before.”
