Rupali Ganguly‘s show Anupamaa has been popular with the viewers ever since its first episode was aired in 2020. The show has been successful in consistently remaining among the top five on the TRP charts. Such has been the impact of the show that Rupali’s popularity has increased ten folds. For more than a year, Anupamaa held the number one spot on the TRP chart, but, it did witness a dip when it lost its position to Udne Ki Aasha. Leap and several changes in the cast was considered to be the reason behind dipping TRPs. But much to the delight of fans, Anupamaa is back to rule the TRP list. With the new added drama, Anupamaa is once again entertaining the fans and how.
Why is the show still so popular?
There are several reasons as to why Anupamaa remains to be the most-loved show on Indian Television. Rupali has now become synoymous with Anupamaa and people are emotional connected to her. Plus, in recent times, a lot of new characters got introduced in the show. Anupamaa took a short leap and stars like Gaurav Khanna (Anuj Kapadia), Nidhi Shah (Kinjal) and many more marked exit from the show. Rupali continued to be Anupamaa with stars like Shivam Khajuria (Prem), Adrija Roy (Raahi) and others joining as the new cast. A few episodes earlier, the makers also introduced the Kothari family. Rahil Azam (Parag Kothari), Zalak Desai (Khyaati Kothari) and many more joined the gang. Their entry brought a lot of drama as they are Prem’s rich family members. A lot of drama has unfolded since their entry into the show as once again it is all about rich and poor. Prem and Raahi are in love but the wealthy Kotharis are against their union. Reluctantly they agreed, but are creating as many problems as possible. The tiff between father and son, and Anupamaa’s dilemma about her daughter’s future has got fans interested in theshow.
The new entries in the show have definitely helped Anupamaa to regain its TRP standing. The current storyline is about Moti Baa’s wish to see Prem and Raahi married. She says that Raahi can finish her studies and work even after getting married. But Anupamaa has her doubts. She goes into nostalgia remembering how her mother-in-law said the same thing but the reality was different. Such emotional moments are keeping fans hooked to Anupamaa as the show depicts the real-life family conflicts and much more.
TRP Report Week 4
Anupamaa registered 2.4 million impressions in terms of TRPs in week 4. It was followed by Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin and Udne Ki Aasha taking second and third spot respectively. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai witness major dip in numbers and slipped to fourth spot. Advocate Anjali Awashthi took the fifth spot.
