When Rohit Shetty said he’s not a ‘misfit’ after replacing Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra as the host
Now that Bigg Boss OTT 3 is over, everyone is discussing another show, Khatron Ke Khildai 14. Hosted by Rohit Shetty, the current season has received an overwhelming response from viewers within just two weeks of its premiere. The Chennai Express director, who took over from previous hosts Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra, has shown his commitment to the show and has hosted the stunt-based reality show for a long time now.
In a throwback interview from 2014, when Rohit Shetty was first cast as the host for Khatron, the filmmaker discussed his excitement about taking on the role as a host. As reported by the entertainment news portal ‘Bollywood Journalist’, Rohit said that while it was not uncommon for filmmakers to host television shows—mentioning directors like Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Anurag Basu, Sajid Khan, and Farah Khan—he was thrilled to be given the opportunity. The Singham director expressed his love for action and his enthusiasm for trying something new on television.
Rohit Shetty also talked about replacing Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra as the host of Khatron Ke Khiladi. Shetty acknowledged the excellent work that both actors had done but added that he is not a misfit either. However, Rohit clearly stated that he aimed to avoid controversies or conflicts on the show. His goal was to bring a fresh perspective and highlight the emotional stories of the contestants.
Further, the Sooryavanshi director was asked about the challenges of hosting a show. Shetty stated that both films and television present their own set of challenges. The director stressed the importance of hard work and dedication, pointing out that success requires a serious commitment. Shetty promised to give the show his utmost effort, stating that he planned to invest 200 percent into his role as host.

Talking about Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, in the first week itself, Asim Riaz got into huge fight with Rohit Shetty. Asim was not sure of a task and wanted others to prove if they can do it. Eventually, the argument turned into a serious fight and Rohit lost his cool too. Asim was eliminated from the show immediately. Other contestants who are part of the show are Gashmeer Mahajani, Shalin Bhanot, Sumona Chakravarti, Abhishek Kumar, etc.
