Despite the overwhelming positive response, a fan war has erupted on social media. As soon as the film hit theatres, fans of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor clashed online, each group claiming their favourite star as the key to the movie’s success. While both actors have remained silent on the issue that has taken over the entertainment news world, BollywoodLife spoke to Stree 2 actor Abhishek Banerjee, who plays Jana, for his take on the ongoing social media drama. Abhishek Banerjee said, “Stree belongs to Amar Kaushik. Kitna bhi lad lo, kuch bhi kar lo. Yeh sab faltu ki baatein hai. Yeh sab, credit pe ladna, kya fayda iss sab ka? (No matter how much you fight, or what you do, it’s all pointless. What purpose do all the fights over credit serve? The director is the captain of the ship, and remember that any film, any good performance, whatever you guys are watching, it is because of the director. It is because he can keep the team connected. The Paatal Lok actor added, “Sabke pyaar aur mehnat se banayi hai. Mat karo ladai. Just enjoy the moment and let us also enjoy the moment. Usme kyu bekaar mein tadka daalne ki koshish kar rahe ho. Hum log wapas jayenge, wapas shoot karenge aur aapko utna hi maza aayega. (The movie is with everyone’s love and hard work. So, don’t fight. Why are you trying to add unnecessary drama? We will go back, shoot for the next one, and you will enjoy it just as much).”

Meanwhile, Stree 2 also features cameos by Varun Dhawan (as Bhediya) and Akshay Kumar. Abhishek will reprise his role of Jana in Bhediya 2. As per the latest reports, the shooting of the same is expected to start next year.
