Pratiksha Honmukhe breaks silence on her ouster, exposes director’s offensive behaviour, calls Rajan Shahi…
The latest generation of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai featured Shehzada Dhami, Samridhii Shukla and Pratiksha Honmukhe as Armaan, Abhira and Roohi. However, the makers of YRKKH took a major decision and removed Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe overnight. They have been replaced by Rohit Purohit and Garvita Sadhwani. Months after the ouster, Pratiksha Honmukhe has now opened up about the incident and shared her perspective on producer Rajan Shahi.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Pratiksha Honmukhe called Rajan Shahi a ‘nice human being’. She also said that she is grateful for the opportunity and would never want to disappoint him, adding that she does not hold any grudges against anyone. The actress also spoke about the directors of the show, and lauded them for being nice to her and guiding her.
As Pratiksha said, there was one director who did not like her and would often scold her. Such was the experience on the sets that she’d experience emotional breakdown, burst into tears and feel anxious. While calling his behaviour humiliating, Pratiksha said, “There’s a thin line between scolding and humiliating. It used to happen to me, and I used to cry on sets every day. I used to be anxious and scared.”
Pratiksha also mentioned that the cast and crew was aware of what she’d experience and why she’d cry on the sets. She said that there was an incident wherein she fainted while shooting a dance sequence. However, she regrets not talking to producer Rajan Shahi about the humiliation she was being subjected to. “Back then, I thought I am new and I should just adjust. But now I feel I should have spoken to Rajan sir. I let my fear control me, and that is my biggest regret,” she said.
Post Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Pratiksha Honmukhe was featured in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye. She essayed the role of Priyanka Bajwa in the show. She recently bid adieu to the show Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye, and penned a long note on social media thanking the makers and the team.
