Prabhas starrer beats Jawan with a historic opening day; mints THIS mammoth amount

After a few debacles at the box office, Prabhas has returned to prove his mighty power. His latest release is Kalki 2898 AD. Starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, the movie has been directed by Nag Ashwin. The movie released on a Thursday instead of a Friday. Despite a non-holiday release, Kalki 2898 AD managed to make massive money at the box office on its opening day. Prabhas’ magic seems to have worked again and the film is doing wonders at the box office already. As per a report in Sacnilk.com, early estimates suggest that Prabhas‘ Kalki 2898 AD has managed to make around Rs 95 crore on its opening day in India. The major share has come in from the Telugu version of the film. It has alone contributed to Rs 64.5 crore share to the total. The Tamil version is said to have made around Rs 4 crore. The Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD also witnessed great numbers. Reportedly, it made Rs 24 crore at the box office on day 1. The Kannada version made Rs 0.3 crore and the Malayalam version made around Rs 2.2 crore. As of the now these are the early estimates and the final figures are yet to come in. But going by the buzz, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone have managed to make a historic number at the box office with Kalki 2898 AD. Earlier, it was Shah Rukh Khan‘s movie Jawan that held the record of having the biggest opening day in India. It made around Rs 65 crore at the box office on its first day. Kalki 2898 AD seems to have surpassed the number with its historic numbers.

Talking about the worldwide collection of Kalki 2898 AD, is looking forward to an opening day collection of more than Rs 150 crore. Indeed it has turned out to be one of the biggest films in the history of Indian cinema.
