The movie has avoided a clash with Indian 2. Kalki 2898 AD makers initially planned to release the film on May 9, 2024. However, the decided on a small postponement as some patchwork was pending, plus they wanted to avoid the general elections season in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Kalki 2898 AD is a sci-fi dystopian thriller made on a budget of close to Rs 600 crores. It is the most expensive Indian film to be ever made. Kalki 2898 AD is made by Vyjayanthi Movies. In the movie, Prabhas is playing the role of Bhairava. On April 21, they unveiled the character of Amitabh Bachchan as Dronacharya. It was during the IPL telecast. The visuals, BGM and sound are already getting huge appreciation. The poster of Kalki 2898 AD is at par with ones of Hollywood films. The vibes are the same as that of Dune, Divergent and Oblivion.

Kalki 2898 AD has Prabhas in the role of the hero while Kamal Haasan is the main antagonist. The movie is about a evil military ruler who has taken over the world.
