In one fun scene, the classic song Kaathalin Deepam Ondru from Rajinikanth’s film Thambikku Entha Ooru is used during a comedic moment. As reported by News 18, another Rajini reference happens as Vijay’s character is going down a staircase with the Padaiyappa theme playing in the background. These moments pay a respectful nod to Thalaiva, a star deeply loved across generations.

But the tributes don’t stop there. Vijay even channels his inner Tom Cruise in a thrilling sequence. While playing his character Gandhi, the Bigil star whistles the famous theme song from Mission: Impossible. Then, in true action-hero style, he performs a daring leap from a skyscraper, a clear nod to one of Cruise’s iconic stunts in the Hollywood blockbuster.

Adding more to the mix, GOAT references Shah Rukh Khan as well. In one scene, Vijay’s younger self strikes a pose like Shah Rukh’s signature open-arm one, which the Bollywood star is famous for when playing romantic characters. Vijay puts his own twist on it, folding his arms to show affection in a way that fans couldn’t help but love. The film also cleverly weaves in references to another Tamil star, Ajith Kumar. Songs from Ajith’s films Mankatha and Attagasam are used during the powerful climax, adding more excitement for moviegoers.

But the biggest Hollywood shout-out comes from The Dark Knight. In a tense interrogation scene, GOAT mirrors the famous questioning moment from Christopher Nolan’s Batman film, adding another layer of homage to international cinema.
