YouTuber-podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia found himself in controversy after his appearance on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Talent. Popularly known as BeerBiceps, on Samay’s show, Ranveer asked a contestant a controversial question on ‘sex with parents’. As soon as the episode was out, that particular clip went viral and many people slammed the YouTuber. But did you know, before Ranveer, Kanan Gill had made a joke like this?
In 2015, Kanan Gill made the joke in the presence of Jackky Bhagnani and Lauren Gottlieb. The actors were reportedly on Gill’s show to promote their movie—Welcome to Karachi. In a clip that has now gone viral, Kanan asks, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to stop it?” Both Jackky and Lauren started laughing at Gill’s question.
The viral video ends with Kanan asking them to answer the question. It’s the same joke that Ranveer Allahbadia made on India’s Got Latent. In the comments, netizens have shared their reactions. One person wrote, “Audience were not so vanilla back then.” Another commented, “Well 2015 us were more chill than 2025 us.” A person wrote, “Tab k time log employed the.” One person commented, “Proof that we’ve evolved overtime as a country, just backwards.”

Meanwhile, after the severe backlash, several complaints were filed against Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina. Samay recently reacted to the entire controversy. On social media, the comedian posted, “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all Indias Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”
