Nitesh Tiwari‘s decision to make a film on Ramayana also grabbed much attention. It is rumoured that Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi will star in the film as Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. Till today, it is stated that the best creation about Ramayana has been Ramanand Sagar‘s television version. Bollywood or South cinema, unfortunately, haven’t been able to deliver a film on Ramayana that has won people’s hearts. Amidst all this, renowned actor Ashutosh Rana, who himself has written a beautiful book on Lord Ram titled Ramrajya, opens up about the best story he has ever witnessed on Lord Ram. Ashutosh Rana reveals the best creation on Lord Ram ever made

For most people, Ramanand Sagar‘s television version has been the best portrayal of Lord Ram’s life, but for Ashutosh Rana, the best picturization of Ramayana he has ever seen is in his hometown. The actor said, ”I belong to Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh. Geographically, it’s a small place. But if you think about it from the perspective of Hindi culture and history, it’s an integral part. The Ram Leela which I have witnessed there, till today, unfortunately, I haven’t seen anywhere else. I have worked with the topmost filmmakers of our country, but it’s a true fact that the script or the story which I witnessed in Gadarwara’s Ramleela, I haven’t seen anywhere else.” Also Read – Vicky Kaushal’s father Sham Kaushal is all praises for Mahira Sharma as he works with her in the upcoming web series Gangster

The actor further added, ”I have even participated in those Ramleelas where we would be assigned characters according to our age and caliber. I haven’t seen that impeccable acting and writing anywhere else. And I always had that wish that if I ever got a chance to be a part of Ramayan again as an actor, I would try to imbibe some qualities from the Gadarwara play. The theatre play Humare Ram, which I am doing now, you can say we have achieved some essence of the Gadarwara Ramleela.”

It would be interesting to see if filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari can break the chain and if his upcoming film tentatively titled Ramayana will be able to win people’s hearts.
