However, in a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Anu Aggarwal revealed how stardom put her security at risk. She mentioned that it got scary for her to even walk around alone and live alone in the city as there would be fans standing under building. She compared her stardom to that of Shah Rukh Khan.

Anu Aggarwal said, ‘For me to walk around alone and live alone at that time… I had fans standing under my building. Luckily, it was an MLA-MP building, so we had police protection. It was madness. People would fly from countries just to see my building, just like how it is for Shah Rukh Khan today. Shah Rukh is my neighbour and that’s what used to happen to me, and I ran away from it.’

The actress also spoke about the influence of underworld on Bollywood back in time. Calling it a ‘dirty business’, the actress shared ‘At that time, it was all under-the-table deals. It was ruled by people like Dawood Ibrahim. All the money that was coming into the film industry came from the underworld. It was a completely different scenario.’

In the same interview, Anu Aggarwal revealed that she hasn’t receive her full payment for Aashiqui as yet. The makers still owe her 40 percent of the fees.

However, after a near-fatal accident, Anu Aggarwal chose to distance herself from the film industry. She was reportedly in coma for almost 29 days after the accident. She then led a life of monk for sometime.
