Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly booked over rape allegations, actor calls it entirely untrue

Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly was booked for rape on Tuesday on a complaint by a 40-year-old woman. The female complained that the actor sexually assaulted her over a year ago in Dubai, said the cops. Well, an officer of Oonnukal police station, said that there are six accused, including a woman, in the case. The FIR has been filed under section 376 of the IPC. The woman said that the incident occurred over a year ago in Dubai and the officer did not give more information about the case. Nivin Pauly is among the actors and directors who are facing allegations of sexual harassment or rape by female actors after the publication of the Justice K Hema Committee report. Nivin finally reacted to the allegations through his Instagram post on Tuesday evening. He gave out a statement which read, ‘I have come across a false news report accusing me of abusing a girl. Please know that this is entirely untrue. I am determined to go to any extent to prove these allegations are baseless and will take all necessary steps to bring those responsible to light. Thank you for your concern. Well, the committee was constituted by the Kerala government after the 2017 actress assault case. The report talks about the various instances of harassment and exploitation of women in the Malayalam cinema industry.

The case will be probed by the Special Investigation Team which has been formed to investigate sexual misconduct complaints that have been coming from the Malayalam film industry. The incident took place in November 2023, as per the complaint.
