What’s hot?

The tagline of Kill is ‘The Most Violent Film Made Out of India’ and it is true . It is violent, it is gory, it is horrifying and it is tragic. It is about love, loss, greed and revenge. Two NSG commandos fighting like warriors against an army of goons is simply outstanding to watch. Lakshya Lalwani as Amrit is impressive to the core. His lover boy charm will work like magic and his fearless avatar as an officer will make you proud. He has a captivating screen presence that is commendable. It is not easy to be an action hero, but he does a fine job. And his voice!!! There are very few dialogues in the film but ladies, it will make you go uff. Raghav is the bad guy and he is just so natural and effortless. He plays the role of Feni who along with his troupe get on the train with a motive to carry out a loot. He is twisted and how! Raghav seems to have soaked himself into the character that at times you’ll forget that comedy is his forte. But fret not, there are a few punch lines that will make you chuckle. It is not because the scenes are funny but it’s the way he plays out his character. From the accent to the dialogue delivery, it is just pitch perfect. Tulika has a decent role to play in the film. The supporting cast like Ashish Vidyarthi and others are good.

The director Nikhil Bhat deserves the credit for making a film that has no dull moments at all. The story is of one night on a train filled with violence and there’s only so much that one can do. But all the elements are perfectly used. The action choreographers Parvez Shaikh and Se-yeong Oh have successfully managed to bring the madness on the screen that the film required.

The movie will keep you at the edge of your seat thinking what’s next and even though one gets an understanding of the end after a point, you won’t be able to move your eyes away from the screen. Pure ruthless action that will make your gut churn. At one point, I even found myself texting my boss, ‘It’s VIOLENT, I can’t watch it.’ But I couldn’t push myself to get up and leave. Rather I didn’t want to because the movie kept me hooked. If you thought Animal was gory, Kill will change the definition of gory for you!

What’s not

There is nothing wrong with the film but watch it only if you have the stomach to witness the bloodbath. Some scenes will make you shiver and leave you with nightmares for days.

Verdict

It is one courageous film that sets the bar for action films really high. It is a landmark in Indian Cinema, as they say!
