Janhvi Kapoor tackles conspiracies and nepotism tag as a young diplomat in the spy thriller
The much-awaited Ulajh trailer is now out. The spy thriller features Janhvi Kapoor, Gulshan Devaiah, and Roshan Mathew in the lead roles. The film is directed by Sudhanshu Saria, who co-wrote the story with Parveez Shaikh. The trailer introduces us to Kapoor’s character, Suhana Bhatia, who receives an assignment as the Deputy High Commissioner at IFS. People around her make comments about nepotism because of her patriotic family background, and they believe that led to her obtaining the position. In the Ulajh trailer, Janhvi Kapoor’s Suhana, a young diplomat, faces not only the nepotism label but also doubts about her loyalty to the nation. There are conspiracies against her that question her intentions for the nation. The events happen during a critical assignment in London, so Suhana has no support from her family during the tough times.
As seen in the trailer, Gulshan Devaiah and Roshan Mathew’s characters only make things more complicated for Janhvi Kapoor’s Suhana. In the trailer, she yells at someone about how her identity, her truth, and everything else are taken away from her. She was being used as a scapegoat. However, Suhana won’t sit back and let people destroy her. She decides to fight back, and that’s when we see Janhvi Kapoor in action.
The Ulajh trailer has several characters whose motives can be questioned. We also read the text ‘Every promise is a lie’ and ‘Every friend is a suspect’ in between the scenes. It hints that there’s hardly anyone that can be trusted in this world. So how will Suhana Bhatia get herself out of these twisted conspiracies and challenges? That’s something we will discover once the movie is released. The official synopsis of Ulajh reads, “The journey of a young diplomat, belonging to a prominent family of patriots, who gets embroiled in a dangerous personal conspiracy while far from her home turf, at a career-defining post.”

The movie will hit theatres on August 2, 2024. It’s the first time Janhvi Kapoor is part of a spy thriller movie. Ulajh is produced by Junglee Pictures; the dialogue is penned by Atika Chohan, and the music is composed by Shashwat Sachdev.

The actress was last seen in Mr & Mrs Mahi this year, which also stars Rajkummar Rao. Ulajh will be Janhvi’s second release of 2024.
