Is Sachiv ji’s character in Panchayat 3 copied from THIS Shah Rukh Khan movie?

Panchayat 3 is the talk of the town. The web series has touched the hearts of the audience because of its simplicity, comedy and impactful storyline. The series is streaming on Amazon Prime Video and people are already waiting for Panchayat season 4 now. Panchayat stars Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Jitendra Kumar, Faisal Malik and Chandan Roy in main roles. It has become extremely popular and there have been memes and jokes made about it that have gone viral on the internet. People are in love with the characters of Sachiv Ji, Pradhan ji, Vikas, Rinki and others. All of them have very relatable to the audience and hence, the web series has been getting all the love season after season. Panchayat 3 has a Shah Rukh Khan connection?

However, not many know that the series is reportedly copied. There have been reports that it is like Shah Rukh Khan starrer Swades but no. Panchayat 3 has a connection with Shah Rukh Khan‘s film, Umeed. Well, the entire series is not copied but we do see Jitendra Kumar aka Sachiv Ji entering the Phulera village and similarly SRK also played the role of a bank manager who enters a small village and then gets entangled in village politics. Well, Sachiv ji and SRK’s character in Umeed are definitely similar but the series isn’t copied. Recently, Jitendra Kumar opened up about comparisons between Panchayat and Swades. Speaking to Pinkvilla, he said that when they were writing earlier, they did think it will have similarities and people may point it out.

But they used Swades as an inspiration where Sachiv’s friend in the first season says that he should take inspiration from Swades‘ Mohan. Jitendra said that they did not face any issues because of the comparisons and he loves the movie, Swades and it was exciting to do something in the same zone
