For the unversed, YouTube talent show India’s Got Latent is hosted by comedian Samay Raina. As soon as the video went viral on social media, sparked outrage over obscene content. Complaints too were filed in Mumbai and Guwahati against Ranveer Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, influencer Apoorva Makhija and others who were linked to the India’s Got Latent episode over the remarks. Celebs react to Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial remarks

In a recent chat with Instant Bollywood, Manoj Bajpayee and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali reacted to the controversy. Imtiaz said, “Mujhe lagta hai jisko jis cheez mein maza aata hai usko vahi karna chahiye aur ashleelta aisa subject hai ke obviously bura hai ye to koi bhi kahega but log immature hote hain to zyada seriously unki galtiyon ko lena bhi nai chahiye”. Manoj Bajpayee too agreed with Imtiaz and said, “Isliye jo bhi log safal ho rahe hain, young hain, yuva hain humesha jo hai mahaul ko zara dekhein samjhe”

Rakhi Sawant was among the first celebrity to defend Ranveer following his vulgar remark. “Forgive him, yaar. It’s okay, happens sometimes; forgive him. I know he did wrong, but forgive him,” she said.

Urfi also has similar views. She said that Ranveer’s comments were distasteful. She wrote, “You don’t like certain people; you don’t like the things that they do or say, but demanding for them to go to jail for that? Are you serious? Ummmm! I don’t know. Samay is a friend; I have his back, but even the rest of the people on the panel, what they said was distasteful, yes, but I don’t think they deserve to go to jail for that.”

Sandiip Sikcand took an indirect jab at Ranveer Allahbadia. He wrote “With great power comes great responsibility. True comedy thrives on wit, timing, and genuine laughter. If it makes you cringe, instead of laugh, it’s not comedy, it’s a shortcut.”

Asim Riaz’s brother, Umar Riaz – who had shared the news of the FIR filed against Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Makhija, and Ashish Chanchlani – said, “Always been a fan of dark humor, but the latest samay raina #IGT act felt like it crossed a line into obscenity. Progressive free speech win? Or a step too far into vulgarity? Comedy thrives on edge, but this one missed the mark for me. Curious what others think!”

Rajiv Adatia, who is currently seen in the popular reality show Celebrity MasterChef, wrote, “Parents are our Gods!! Disgusted by what I saw!!” He admitted to feeling disgusted seeing the clips of India’s Got Latent.

Abhinav Shukla had put out a poll on X to ask netizens to share their opinions. He asked, “Talk Shit Get Hit really works. Who to blame? shit talkers or shit watchers?”

Bigg Boss 17 fame Ayesha Khan posted on Instagram, “Problems we are facing- terrible roads, massive traffic jams, air pollution, general safety, Dark comedy on a dark comedy platform. SOLUTION– action to be taken on the most serious topic, varna kahi development na ruk jaye. Only if there was similar outrage for problems bigger than this in the country.”
