We are just a few hours away from the premiere of one of the biggest Hindi shows, Citadel: Honey Bunny. Directed by Raj and DK, they co-wrote the story by Sita R Menon. The spy action series stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. The promos and trailers have created great excitement for the series. So far, we know that it is a spin-off to the Citadel and Citadel: Diana series, but what exactly is the timeline? Citadel
Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden’s Citadel is the first series from the franchise to release in 2023. In the show, Priyanka plays Nadia/Charlotte and Richard plays Mason/Kyle. The story is set in the present timeline.
Citadel: Diana
It’s an Italian spin-off and the second one to release from the franchise. Developed by Alessandro Fabbri, the Italian spin-off released on October 10, 2024. The story is set in the future, in the year 2030 in Milan. It stars Matilda De Angelis and Lorenco Cervasio.
Citadel: Honey Bunny
The story of Varun Dhawan and Samantha’s show is set in the 90s. Thus, it’s a prequel to the other two shows. As we already know, Varun is Priyanka, aka Nadia’s father, and the character Rahi Gambhir makes an appearance in the last episode of the Citadel series. So if you are planning to watch Varun and Samantha’s show, you don’t necessarily need to watch the first two shows. However, once you are done binge-watching the Hindi series, you can start with Citadel, followed by Citadel: Diana.
The Hindi series also stars Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, and others. It will stream on Prime Video on November 7, 2024 onwards.
