Fardeen Khan is making his big comeback in the world of OTT with the big budget project. He is playing the role of Wali Mohammad, a Nawab who is in love with one of the courtesans. Fardeen Khan was away from the arc lights for 14 long years. In that period, he gained a lot of weight and later shed all of it with a strict diet and disciplined fitness routine. When Sanjay Leela Bhansali rejected Fardeen Khan’s acting skills

After movies like Khamoshi and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has established himself as one of the master story-tellers of Bollywood. Fardeen Khan told Pinkvilla that he once went to his office in the early 2000s to seek work. He said he met Bhansali and hoped to get a chance to be in his films. It seems they spoke for 10 to 15 minutes. Fardeen Khan said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali said he did not think he could work with him, as he did not see the fire in his eyes.

Fardeen Khan on how he is grateful for SLB’s reality check

Fardeen Khan said that it felt brutal when he heard it from Bhansali at that point. But he admits that he needed a reality check. When he met him this time, he thanked him for that honest feedback. He said he is grateful to get a chance to work with a master craftsman like him. He said working on Heeramandi has enriched him on many levels.

Fardeen Khan said he felt like a newcomer on the sets of Heeramandi. He considers himself lucky to be working with supportive colleagues. Fardeen Khan said, “I have two more projects that will be released this year. I am really thankful to the audience have trusted me.” Heeramandi is coming on Netflix from May 1, 2024.
