In his biography, An Unsuitable Boy, Karan Johar made this revelation. In the song Na Jaane Mere, Kajol envisions Shah Rukh Khan‘s character standing at the doorstep bidding her farewell. He is wearing a white and red sweater and jeans. Well, this sweater is what Rishi Kapoor wore in his movie Chandni. Karan Johar in his book mentioned that while assisting Aditya Chopra with costumes for DDLJ, and they found this sweater. Due to budget constraints, the makers decided to hunt through costumes kept in Mumbai studios and this sweater was chosen despite it having a small hole. KJo revealed that the the hole was stitched and Shah Rukh Khan wore the sweater in the song. This song and Shah Rukh Khan’s look made sweaters quite fashionable. Shah Rukh Khan and Rishi Kapoor worked together in the film called Deewana.

Rishi Kapoor passed away at the age of 67 on April 30, 2020. He reportedly died of leukemia. The actor and his family spent significant time in the US as Rishi Kapoor underwent treatment. Many of the stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and others paid him a visit in the States. He died amidst Coronavirus pandemic and not many could attend his funeral. His daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni who was in Delhi could not make it in time as the country was under lockdown. Alia Bhatt stood by the Kapoors in this difficult time.
