DYK Shah Rukh Khan designed a movie with Mani Ratnam and it is not Dil Se

Shah Rukh Khan and Mani Ratnam gave us one of the most iconic Hindi movies of all time, titled Dil Se. It also stars Manisha Koirala and Preity Zinta. The movie was released in theatres in 1998 and even after three decades, the love for the film keeps growing every year. SRK and Mani Ratnam’s second film that didn’t happen

There was a time when we would’ve seen Shah Rukh Khan and Mani Ratnam again in a movie together. During Dil Se, SRK and Ratnam designed a movie together, which went on to become another classic movie. However, in it’s Hindi remake, SRK did have a special appearance. The movie we are talking about is Alaipayuthey. The Tamil film stars R. Madhavan and Shalini in the lead roles. During an interview in the past with Rediff, SRK was asked if there are similarities between Chalte Chalte and Saathiya (a remake of Alaipayuthey). The actor answered, “Saathiya (in Tamil) was designed with me by Mani (Ratnam) when we were doing Dil Se.” The superstar didn’t reveal why he didn’t work with the Dil Se director in the movie. Further in this entertainment news, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that he requested Mani Ratnam to show him the movie so that it isn’t similar to Saathiya. SRK shared that Aziz and Juhi Chawla saw the original film in Chennai. Khan said, “We requested Mani to show it to us when we recast Rani (Mukerji) in it. So it would be silly of us to make a story like Saathiya (again).”

Meanwhile, SRK will be next seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s King. He will reportedly play an assassin in the film, which also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan. It will mark Suhana’s theatrical debut.
