Ace cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal‘s personal life continues to make headlines. If reports are to be believed then he and his wife, Dhanashree Verma, have decided to part ways. For a long time, there have been rumours of them having facing issues in their marital life. A day ago, reports suggested that Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal have already been granted divorce as they allegedly visited Bandra Court. There were several reports around alimony too. However, social media influencer and dancer Dhanashree’s lawyer has made a big reveal about the divorce proceedings.
As reports of Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal‘s divorce being finalized made headlines, Dhanashree’s lawyer Aditi Mohan clarified in a statement that the proceedings are still underway. She said, “I have no comments to make on the proceedings; the matter is currently sub judice. The media should fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated.” Reports had suggested that Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal were asked to undergo counselling by the judge. However, they allegedly said that they have been living separately for 18 months and are seeking divorce on ‘mutual consent’. Reportedly, the reason behind their split is said to be ‘compatibility issue’.
A lot of reports also mentioned about alimony. Reports suggested that the cricketer will pay Rs 60 crore in alimony to Dhanashree Verma. However, a family member has set the record straight. As reported by Bombay Times, a family member of Dhanashree called all the reports of Rs 60 crore alimony ‘baseless’. “We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear—no such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumors whatsoever. It is deeply irresponsible to publish such unverified information, dragging not just the parties but also their families into unnecessary speculation,” said the family member.
While Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal have made no public statement about their separation, their cryptic posts on social media have drawn enough attention.
