Popular television actor Arjit Taneja who is seen in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye alongside Sriti Jha recently dismissed speculation of him joining Jhanak. Hiba Nawab starrer Jhanak is all set to witness a 20-year leap. Addressing the rumours, Taneja shared a statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account, writing: “Guysss not doing any new show as of now. Don’t know where are all the articles coming from. Much love.”

Well, Arjit’s comment has come after several reports suggested that the star has been approached and was confirmed to play a lead role in Jhanak post-leap. Now his statement has put all the rumours to rest. Arjit confirms that he is not involved with the show. Arjit’s statement has been going viral on the social media and netizens have reacted to the same. A user wrote, “Kuch bhi kar lena but leena ka show #jhanak galti se bhi nahi karna Nhi to fans se hath dho Bethoge (sic). While another commented saying, “Thanks for clarifying AJ. You deserve much better projects and meaty characters after being our VSA! VSA is standard bro, don’t settle for anything less. Much love (sic).”
Jhanak started airing in November 2023 and gained a lot of popularity with its unique storyline and plot. The story focuses on Jhanak, played by Hiba Nawab, and her journey after escaping a forced marriage. Krushal Ahuja played the role of Aniruddha who gets entangled in Jhanak’s life. The makers of Jhanak introduced a five-year leap and now the production team plans for a 20-year generational leap. The current cast of Jhanak has planned to quit the show and will make way for the new cast. As per reports, Zohaib Siddiqui, Erica Fernandes and Riya Sharma to play lead roles in the show. Riya and Zohaib have been confirmed to play their roles, while Erica will give her mock shoot.
