Anupamaa ratings suffer a drop; is the exit of big stars the reason?

Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna starrer Anupamaa has a huge fan following. The show began in 2020 and has been the top TV show on the TRP charts. Ever week, we see it has been topping and the numbers have been excellent. There has been a time when the TRPs reached 4.8 TVR and it was almost above 4 for more than two months. Now, the TRPs have fallen to 2.5/2.6 or sometimes even 3. But still Anupamaa has not given up its top spot on the TRP charts. The show has raised the bar for all the other shows and even for itself. Why did the TRPs of Anupamaa drop?

The BARC TRP ratings for week 37 came out yesterday and we saw Anupamaa was at the top as usual. However, in week 36, the show got 2.6 TVR but the next week, it dropped to 2.5 TVR. Looks like something is definitely going wrong. Maybe fans are bored with the storyline or maybe the exit of Sudhanshu Pandey aka Vanraj became a problem. People are waiting for the Vanraj mystery to be solved. Sudhanshu left the show and broke hearts. He was one of the most loved characters and now fans have been wondering what will the makers decide to do with Vanraj Shah. Amidst this, Madalsa Sharma aka Kavya also announced that she is quitting the show. This was a big story in Entertainment News. Madalsa played Vanraj’s wife, Kavya. She too was one of the most loved villains in the beginning and later her character turned positive. Madalsa has also made Kavya an amazing character. She revealed that she was not happy with the way her character was moving ahead and felt that nothing much is left to do with Kavya.

Hence, Madalsa also left the show. When Sudhanshu and Madalsa left many were unhappy and the reports them having issues with producer Rajan Shahi and Rupali surfaced. But both have clarified that the rumours are fake.

However, with the drop in the TRPs this week, it seems that big stars leaving the show might also be one of the reasons as Vanraj and Kavya were loved by many.
