Annu Kapoor says Shah Rukh Khan changed Chak De India climax, ‘Want to show Muslim…’

Chak De India is one of the most loved Shah Rukh Khan movies. Directed by Shimit Amin, the film focused on the women’s hockey team and how a coach redeems himself after he is falsely accused of betraying his own country. SRK’s performance is excellent and the climax leaves a great impact on us. Now, Annu Kapoor had made some revelations about the movie.

In an interview, Annu Kapoor claimed that Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De India changed facts when it comes to the coach’s identity. Kapoor stated how the story is based on coach Mir Ranjan Negi, but they changed his name to Kabir Khan in the film. “But in India, they want to show a Muslim as a good character and make fun of a Pandit (Hindu priest). This is something old, where they use the idea of Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb (Hindu-Muslim unity) to put a label on it,” the actor said.

Further in this entertainment news, recently, Annu Kapoor also spoke about how Priyanka Chopra refused to kiss him in 7 Khoon Maaf. The actor said that she wouldn’t have denied it if he had the looks of a “hero.”. Earlier in the past, there has been controversy between him and PeeCee regarding the same.

Coming to Chak De India, along with Shah Rukh Khan, the film also stars Vidya Malvade, Shilpa Shukla, Sagarika Ghatge, Chitrashi Rawat, and several others. The movie was re-released this year in March 2024.
