Kim Soo Hyun has been accused of dating Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. According to the claims, the actor was in a romantic relationship with the late actress when she was just 15 years old, and he was 27.
Sae Ron’s tragic death
The controversy intensified after Kim Sae Ron’s tragic death on 16 February 2025, which was Soo Hyun’s birthday. Sae Ron’s family accused Soo Hyun of manipulating and taking advantage of Sae Ron. Also, they claimed that the duo had been in a relationship for the past 6 years.
GaroSero Controversy
Not only this, but the YouTube channel GaroSero also released private chats between Soo Hyun and Sae Ron. It also leaked romantic pictures of the alleged couple, claiming it to be from 2016.

Amid the controversy, Soo Hyun held a press conference on March 31 in which he revealed his side of the story. At the conference, he was seen fighting with tears as he denied claims of dating Soo Hyun when she was underage.
