Amar Singh Chamkila’s daughter upset with Diljit Dosanjh-Parineeti Chopra’s film; slams director Imtiaz Ali

Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra won hearts with their performance in Amar Singh Chamkila. The film has touched the hearts of the audience and moreover, Diljit and Parineeti have been brilliant. The film is based on the real-life story of the Punjabi singer and his wife who were assassinated at a young age. Diljit Dosanjh played the role of Chamkila and Parineeti Chopra played the role of Amar Singh Chamkila’s wife Amarjot. Many celebrities, critics and even audience have loved the movie that released on Netflix on April 12. Imtiaz Ali has directed the movie and he is enjoying the success of the film right now. Amar Singh Chamkila’s daughter is upset with Imtiaz Ali

During the screening of the film, Amar Singh Chamkila’s family was present and they all loved the movie. But now, Amar Singh Chamkila’s eldest daughter from his first marriage has expressed her disappointment. She was speaking to a Youtube channel named Switch. She said that her family had given so many details to the director but only few of it were seen on-screen. Amar Singh Chamkila’s daughter, Amandeep revealed that her mother, Gurmail Kaur had performed her father’s last rites and it was not portrayed properly.

She added that Imtiaz Ali added the real photo of the funeral but he did not show her mother’s character well. She said that everyone from Amarjot’s family was shown but from her family many were not shown. She said that they are all upset with Imtiaz Ali.

She shared that despite meeting them, Imtiaz Ali neglected to include the pictures of Amar Singh Chamkila’s daughters in closing credits. Amandeep and her mother, Gurmail also revealed that after the death of Chamkila, they spent several years in legal disputes with Amarjot’s family for Chamkila’s estate.
