Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya starrer action-drama film Sky Force – which released in theatres last week – had a good start during the opening weekend. The film is now inching closer to the coveted ₹100 crore mark at the box office in India. As per the latest box office update by Sacnilk.com, Sky Force has managed to collect Rs 80 crore at the box office.

As per the report, the total collection of the film now stands at Rs 80.75 crore after 6 days at the box office and the film collected Rs 5.75 crore – according to early estimates – on its sixth day. The film earned Rs 12.25 crore on its opening day and crossed Rs 60 crore over the weekend. As per reports, Sky Force recorded the best opening day performance for Akshay in recent years as it managed to surpass the opening day numbers of Sarfira which was Rs 2.5 crore and Khel Khel Mein which was Rs 5.05 crore.
Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya‘s film Sky Force is based on India’s attack on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965. The film is directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, alongside Jyoti Deshpande under Jio Studios. The film also stars Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur in pivotal roles and was released on January 24.
Emergency, Sky Force, Azaad and Fateh have released in January. The Kangana Ranaut starrer was one of the most anticipated movies which collected Rs 17.10 Crore in the 13-day theatrical run. Sonu Sood’s Fateh collected Rs 12.75 Cr in 13 days, while Rasha Thadani and Amaan Devgn’s debut movie Azaad earned Rs 6.35 crore in India. Now all eyes are on Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde starrer Deva which is scheduled to hit the big screen on January 31.
