Saif Ali Khan was reportedly stabbed six times by an intruder on January 16. The actor got injured while trying to protect his family from an intruder who allegedly entered his home with an intention of theft. The actor was taken to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent treatment. A few days later, the police arrested the alleged intruder from Thane and the investigation is underway. The court has sent the alleged accused into police custody till January 29. Latest reports state that the accused will now undergo a facial recognition test.
Latest update in Saif Ali Khan attack case
As per a report in Etimes, man named Shariful Fakir arrested in Saif Ali Khan attack case is expected to undergo a facial recognition test at Forensic Science Laboratory in Kalina. The police aims to verify if Shariful Fakir’s face matches with the man captured on the CCTV footage of Saif Ali Khan’s building premise. The CCTV footage captured on January 16 showed a man climbing up the stairs to reach Saif Ali Khan’s home. An officer informed the portal, “Facial recognition should match the face captured by CCTV footage at Saif’s building. Forensic examiners will consider the overall shape and structure of the face during the analysis.”
As per reports, the police has also collected the blood sample of Saif Ali Khan. Even the blood stained clothes have been sent to the forensics for testing. Reports suggest that Shariful is uncooperative during the investigation.
The incident took place in the wee hours of January 16. Saif Ali Khan has also recorded his statement in this case. Reportedly, the actor revealed that he and Kareena Kapoor Khan were in the bedroom when they heard screams of son Jeh’s nanny. As they rushed to Jeh’s room, they saw an intruder. Saif Ali Khan tried to protect his family and that is when the intruder stabbed him in his the back. Saif suffered injuries on back, wrist, neck, shoulder, and arm, say reports. He is back from the hospital and is recovering well.
