Urmila Sial Kapoor

Urmila Sial Kapoor is the only sister of Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, and Shashi Kapoor. She was born in 1935 in Calcutta. For her education, Urmila graduated from Lady Irwin Girls’ College, Delhi. At the same time, Urmila was married to Charanjit Sial, who died in the year 1993.

Urmila said, “Just because I am dark, my brothers have always teased me by saying I was not actually their sister but adopted by my parents since there was no female sibling in the family. My father and mother, however, thought otherwise. They said I was the best of the Kapoor flock.”

Three brothers

The three brothers, Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor, used to tease her a lot and mocked her for her dusky skin colour and even used to call her an adopted sister. However, she is not the real daughter; her father adopted her.

Urmila’s children

Urmila had a son named Jatin Sial and three daughters, Anuradha, Preeti and Namita. Her son Jatin Sial is an actor and made his acting debut with the 1994 DD National’s show Tahqiqat. After this, he never turned back.

Urmila marriage

Urmila got married at a young age. She met Charanjit through Raj Kapoor’s wife. Her husband, Charanjit, died after his wife’s 60th birthday, and Urmila Sial Kapoor died on July 25, 2001.
