Abhishek Banerjee is receiving widespread praise for his performances in two recent releases, Stree 2 and Vedaa. Banerjee, who has established himself as both an actor and a casting director, continues to impress audiences with his ability to seamlessly transition between different roles. As the co-founder of Casting Bay, a renowned casting agency, he has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry. The actor’s agency has handled casting for popular films like The Dirty Picture and No One Killed Jessica, showcasing his eye for talent. In 2019, Banerjee also worked as the casting director for The Sky is Pink and the web series Paatal Lok, further solidifying his reputation in the industry.
In a recent interview, Abhishek Banerjee opened up about a challenging moment in his career during his time as a casting director. The Stree 2 actor revealed that he was once removed from a project by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. As shared in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, the incident took place during the casting for the 2012 remake of Agneepath. Banerjee mentioned that his casting choices were not well received by the production house, which led to his removal from the project. The actor explained that the actors he was bringing in were more in line with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s style, which didn’t align with the vision Karan had for the film.
In this piece of entertainment news, the Bhediya actor stated that being fired from such a major project initially made him fear for his career. Abhishek recalled feeling uncertain about his future in the industry after the project’s request to leave. However, despite this setback, Banerjee’s career not only survived but thrived as he went on to achieve significant success in both casting and acting.
