Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s daughter Aaradhya Bachchan has reportedly moved Delhi High Court over ‘misleading information’ about her in media. Delhi High Court has reportedly issued notice ‘seeking summary judgment in the matter regarding circulation of misleading information about her in media.’ It is a move taken by the family to safeguard Aaradhya Bachchan’s privacy.
As per reports, Aaradhya Bachchan has filed for a fresh petition following the previous order of the Delhi High Court. Back in April 2023, the Delhi Court had restrained many YouTube channels and media outlets from disseminating false information about Aaradhya Bachchan’s health. The court had directed search engine giant Google, social media account of Bollywood Times and other websites to remove all the content identified by Aaradhya Bachchan in her petition. As per a report in News18, the court had also emphasised that a child, whether a star kid or not, is entitled to honour and respect. It was deemed ‘impermissible by law’ to circulate any misleading information about a child’s mental and physical health.
Further, the report also stated the court had directed YouTube to immediately delist 24 identified videos containing false information about Abhishek and Aishwarya’s daughter. The platform was also instructed to provide the plaintiffs with details of contact information and email addresses of defendants responsible for such videos.
Aaradhya Bachchan is said to have filed for the second petition after some of the platforms did not comply with the court’s order issued earlier.
Reportedly, Bachchan’s counsel stated that the court ordered ‘summary judgement’ as the defendants failed to appear before the court. Thus, their right to defend themselves already stands closed in this case. The next hearing in this case has been set on March 17.
