Junaid Khan’s Maharaj has received mixed reviews, but many are discussing the important issue it highlights. The movie also faced a delay in its release due to religious controversy, but the movie’s team won the case. Further, Aamir Khan’s production house backed Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies this year. The film has received immense love from the audience since its release on Netflix. The theatrical reception wasn’t that good in terms of numbers. In an interview with the Times of India, Junaid Khan shared that his father and superstar Aamir Khan thought of taking retirement. The Maharaj revealed that when he was on a movie set, after he finished Maharaj and Kiran was busy with Laapataa Ladies, the Dangal star was going through his ‘I am retiring phase’. Aamir even shared the same with his son and told him to take over the production house.

Junaid Khan revealed that when his dad was going through the ‘retiring’ phase, he stepped in as he has a decent understanding of production. Junaid believes producing movies is one of the toughest jobs in filmmaking. The actor further added that neither Aamir nor Reena Dutta were anxious about his debut film. They were happy, and Aamir liked the film a lot. Directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, Maharaj also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Shalini Pandey, and Sharvari.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is all set to entertain the audience this year with Sitaare Zameen Par. The movie is based on the lines of his 2007 directorial debut, Taare Zameen Par. SZP will be helmed by RS Prasanna and star Genelia D’Souza.
