Taapsee Pannu revisits ‘sasti copy’ controversy, gives BOLD response to Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli’s criticism: ‘I can never…’
Taapsee Pannu is currently in news as she revisits the ‘sasti copy’ controversy with Kangana Ranaut’s sister, Rangoli Chandel. She again took the high road and mentioned that she is okay being called a copy of a talented actress like Kangana Ranaut. Taapsee Pannu shared that she can never say demeaning things about any other woman.
In an interview with ABP News, Taapsee Pannu was quoted saying, “Maybe I am ‘sasti’ because I don’t get paid as much as Kangana Ranaut. If being called a copy of such a talented actress is the case, I am okay with it.” She also added that a person’s words reflect their upbringing and personality. She added that she can never say such things about any woman who ‘has carved her own journey’.
For the unaverse, Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel called Taapsee Pannu a ‘sasti copy’ on social media after the Thappad actress praised the trailer of Judgmentall Hai Kya. She missed mentioning Kangana Ranaut in the post and that led to Rangoli’s fiery response. Rangoli in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), reportedly wrote, “Kuch log Kangana ko copy kar ke he apni dukaan chalate hain, magar pls note, they never acknowledge her, not even a mention of her name in praising the trailer. Last I heard, Taapsee ji said Kangana needs a double filter, and Taapsee ji, you need to stop being a sasti copy.” Even back then, Taapsee refrained from engaging into any sort of a spat and opting for a dignified response.
Workwise, in 2024, Taapsee Pannu was seen in two films. She featured alongside Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor and others in the movie Khel Khel Mein. She was also seen in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, the sequel of Hasseen Dillruba. Her next movie is said to be Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? She is also said to be working on a project with Anubhav Sinha.
