Ameesha Patel opens up about love, heartbreak and relationship rumours, ‘I am waiting for…’ [Exclusive]
Ameesha Patel is one of the rare actresses who has been part of some of the most iconic movies made in the Indian film industry. Be it her debut film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai with Hrithik Roshan or Gadar and Gadar 2 with Sunny Deol or horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyya with Akshay Kumar. But when the actress isn’t in news for her films, she makes regular headlines for her relationships. The actress, who recently completed 25 years in the industry, has been previously linked up to filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, business men Kanav Puri and Ness Wadia and more recently, Nirvaan Birla. There were also reports of her short lived relationship with producer and her business partner Kunal Goomer. However, the actress has never confirmed having a relationship with any of these men.
When we met her recently for the latest episode of Spotlight with Smrity, we couldn’t help but ask her what is the status of love in her life now at 49. Without taking any moment, the actress replied, “I am not looking for love anymore, I am waiting for it to come find me.” She also addressed the various rumours that keep doing the rounds and shared how she deals with them. “There have been so many rumours all along but I always take them with a pinch of salt. It is a rumour, it is not a fact,” said Ameesha.
We wondered if over the years, she has experienced a heartbreak and with a smile on her lips, Ameesha revealed, “I don’t want to have a heartbreak, I rather break hearts. On a serious note, genuinely I haven’t been in a relationship for the longest time.” The actress is busy focusing her energies at work. “Right now I am just running around, busy with my work, surrounded by my core group of friends,” Ameesha revealed.
However, there is someone in her core group of friends, who has been on a mission to get her married. And it is none other than Sanjay Dutt. Ameesha revealed, “Sanjay is very protective of me and he is someone who wants to find me a good husband and get me married. He often tells me ‘This big bad world of cinema is not for you. Get married, main kanyadaan karoonga.’ A few years ago he even told me, ‘you shift to my house. And let me find the right boy for you’.”
The actress remains to be one of the most eligible women in Bollywood and interestingly, fans on social media often manifest for Ameesha Patel to get married to Salman Khan, the OG most eligible Bollywood bachelor. They often wonder how the kids would look if this gorgeous looking duo gets married. Well, it seems that fans of Ameesha Patel who are eager to see her find ‘the one’ and tie the knot have some wait ahead of them.
