Amid controversy with stepdaughter Esha Verma, Rupali Ganguly performs aarti At Maha Kumbh mela; see viral photos
Hour after Rupali Ganguly – was slammed by her stepdaughter Esha Verma and accused of monitoring her social media activities – Anupamaa star visited the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela. The popular star who was called an “evil step lady” by Esha was seen performing an aarti. Within minutes, her photos that were shared on Instagram went viral. The actress looked happy and peaceful as she performed aarti.
Rupali Ganguly looked gorgeous even as she attended the aarti in a simple salwar kurta. Rupali had performed aarti in the presence of her gurus.

On February 12, Esha Verma took to Instagram to lash out at Rupali and revealed that the next court hearing in her legal battle was scheduled on her birthday. Even though she didn’t directly name Rupali, Esha called her an “evil step lady” and accused her of monitoring her social media activities. “TY to the evil step lady for scheduling the next court date on my bday muah : So generous. Oh & hi, thanks for monitoring me & violating social media policies for the last 4 months,” he post read.
Later, she deleted the post. As it made headlines, Esha put out a clarification post. On a post made by Pinkvilla, Esha mentioned that she uses social media to share her thoughts with her friends. “I wasn’t trying to start anything or make this public—it was just me processing my emotions in the moment,” she further wrote. Esha Verma also mentioned that it is shocking to see the court date fall on her birthday. “It’s exhausting to be constantly monitored, and frustrating to see casual posts turned into headlines,” she wrote.
For the unversed, Rupali Ganguly had recently received interim relief in the defamation case she had filed against Esha. Her lawyer, Sana Raees Khan, had confirmed that the order restrains any false and defamatory content from being shared across platforms, to protect Rupali’s reputation.
The ongoing controversy started after an old post by Esha had resurfaced on X (formerly Twitter). It had made Rupali’s husband, Ashwin Verma and Esha’s father to come out publicly to support his wife. Esha had accused Rupali of stealing her late mother’s jewelry. Esha also held Rupali culpable for subjecting her mother to physical abuse which further led to emotional adversity. Esha had out out several videos on Instagram and stated she felt unsafe around both Rupali and her father.
