Meet the Tum Bin actress Sandali Sinha
The actress in discussion is Sandali Sinha. Remember the iconic Tum Bin? She played the lead actress Piya in the film. Tum Bin released in the year 2001 and marked her debut film. It did well at the box office as its storyline managed to deeply resonate with the viewers. The movie’s background music too was a loved by all. Over the years, the film earned the iconic status and its success led to its sequel – Tum Bin 2 – but only sixteen years later! Tum Bin 2 was released in 2016 and Sandali Sinha was seen in a special appearance in the film. From 2001 to 2016, Sandali only appeared in 8 films. She first got noticed after she appeared in Sonu Nigam‘s music video Deewana. Anubhav Sinha – who directed the music video – cast her for the film Tum Bin. Though her debut was a hit, next films she was featured in did not get any success. She appeared in several films including Om, Pinjar, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo and more. In 2005, she married businessman Kiran Salaskar, later embraced motherhood and raised two children. In one of the interviews with a news agency, she opened up about her absence from the film industry. She shared that she did not want to stop working but it happened. “I was meant to go in another direction, and it happened suddenly. I didn’t want to stop working. It happened naturally and organically because I became a mom, and it was important to be there (for my children). If you’re an actor, you’re a producer’s actor, you cannot say, ‘I need to go home at this time, and I need to do this thing,” she said.
