Anjana Sukhani’s explosive claims about being forced into a kissing scene with Anil Kapoor; ‘I was just told…’

Actress Anjana Sukhani has worked in a few Hindi, Telugu and Kannada films. Among the most successful ones is Salaam-E-Ishq by Nikkhil Advani. The film and the actress are back in news after she made a few shocking claims about the director. She also spoke about the kissing scene with Anil Kapoor in Salaam-E-Ishq and mentioned that she wasn’t informed about it earlier. It came as a shock to her, but was too afraid to refuse. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Anjana shared that she wasn’t told about the kissing scene with Anil Kapoor until the very last moment. She learnt about it only on the set and felt like crying as she had nobody to talk to. Anjana explained that she wasn’t in a position to refuse and felt very nervous. She was overwhelmed and did not have anybody around to talk about it. The actress said, “I was just told that this is what I had to do. I understand that, as an actor, if a script demands something, you have to be open to it. If a scene requires a kiss, that’s fair enough. But I am saying—at least inform me. Mentally, I need to be prepared. At the end of the day, this is still a form of intimacy, and I think I have carried that feeling for a very long time.” She also made a remark saying that this would not have happened to a star kid. While talking about Nikkhil Advani, she said that director was ‘mean and harsh’ for not informing her about the kissing scene prior to the shoot. She called the incident ‘unfair’ and mentioned that she carries some bitterness even though she never confronted the director about it. Salaam-E-Ishq starred biggies like Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Juhi Chawla, Akshaye Khanna, John Abraham, Vidya Balan, Sohail Khan, Ayesha Takia, Isha Koppikar and many more. It released in the year 2007 and did a business of Rs 50 crore plus at the box office.
