Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is one of the greatest actors in Indian cinema. He has impressed audiences with his performances over the years and continues to be appreciated across the globe. Everybody loves his style and grace, but do you know there is one actress who has won his heart? And it isn’t Rekha or his wife Jaya Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan once revealed that he is a huge fan of legendary actress Waheeda Rehman. He had said that he considers her as his idol. Amitabh Bachchan once carried Waheeda Rehman’s footwear so that she did not stand bare feet in the desert. Amitabh Bachchan said, “The first time I got an opportunity to work with her (was) in the movie ‘Reshma Aur Shera’. During the shoot, there was a sequence where Sunil Dutt and Waheeda ji had to sit bare feet in the desert, where it was impossible to stand in the sand with our shoes, because of the high temperature. I was so worried about how Waheeda ji was managing to shoot in such extreme conditions, and too without footwear. So, as soon as the director announced a break, without wasting time, I took Waheeda ji’s juttis and ran towards her. I can’t even express how special the moment is to me”.
Amitabh Bachchan and Waheeda Rehman worked together in films such as Trishul, Adalat, and Namak Halaal. He once revealed that he considers Dilip Kumar and Waheeda Rehman his two idols. He had appeared on the sets of Superstar Singer with Waheeda Rehman and Asha Parekh. Amitabh Bachchan said, ‘Waheeda Rehman has always been the most beautiful women to me till date. She is not only a great actor but also a great human being by her nature. For me Waheeda ji is a perfect example of the Indian woman. Waheeda ji has given huge and incredible contribution to our Bollywood Industry which cannot be expressed through words”.
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. The film was a blockbuster hit and earned over Rs 1000 crore at the box office. The makers have hinted at part 2 of Kalki 2898 AD.
