Though born in India, she holds a British citizenship thanks to her mother. Once in an interview, this diva spoke about Adolf Hitler as her maternal family originally belonged to Germany.
When Alia Bhatt spoke about her great grandfather
The actress is Alia Bhatt. The National Award winning actress in an interview with Lallantop spoke about her great-grandfather and how he used to run an underground newspaper. She said, “My maternal grandmother is from Germany. Obviously, we know the situation about what was happening in Germany then. Her father, my great-grandfather, was running an underground newspaper against Hitler.” In one of the interviews, Soni Razdan too had spoken about her grandfather Karl Hoelzer who ran a newspaper against Hitler as he was against fascism. She revealed that grandfather was put in concentration camp but wasn’t killed. The family then moved to England.
It is known to all that Alia Bhatt is a college dropout. She quit in her 12th standard to pursue her career in acting. She could not finish studies as she started work on Student of the Year, her debut movie. Reportedly, the actress was chosen through audition and was asked to lose around 16 kilos for the film.
Today, Alia Bhatt is one of the biggest names in the film industry. She has won several awards and trophies. She won the National Award for being the best actress for Gangubai Kathiawadi. Her next film is Alpha that is produced by YRF. She will also be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War that stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in key roles.
