Bigg Boss former contestants Elvish Yadav and Rajat Dalal are facing backlash for passing racist comments on their chat show, The Little Adda Company. Their comments about podcast Bigg Boss season 18 runner-up Chum Darang – who was often lauded for daring personality – have spread widespread criticism. In the video, Elvish looks sceptical about Karan Veer Mehra’s fondness and love for Chum and speculate whether he had COVID. He further intensified the controversy by saying that Chum’s name sounds vulgar.
Within no time, the video went viral on social media and sparked outrage over Elvish’s derogatory remarks about Chum. A fan even tagged ministers from North East India and urged them to take strict action against the racist comments made on the actress.
Elvish and Rajat further acknowledged that people of North East India often face racism from other parts of the nation. Chum, who participated in Salman Khan’s reality show, had earlier spoken about the same on national television. She expressed her pain when people called them coronavirus during the lockdown. Meanwhile, YouTuber Manu Punjabi added fuel to the controversy by poking fun at Chum. Netizens slammed the channel and Bigg Boss for taking Elvish and Rajat on their shows. Some netizens reminded Elvish of his own words that one should strive to rise higher in life.
