Annu Kapoor shares memories of his journey with Zee Antakshari
The Zee Real Heroes Awards 2024 event was held in Mumbai on January 14. It honoured celebrities and entities from various fields for their exceptional contribution in various fields. The event was graced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Celebrities like Annu Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Ajay Devgn, Kartik Aaryan, and several others were present for the same.

While accepting the Zee Real Heroes Award, Annu Kapoor got candid about his journey in the film and television industry, especially his association with Zee Antakshari. In 1993, Kapoor’s life changed forever when he got to host the popular show, which was tremendously loved by people for many years. On August 6, 1993, Annu recalled how Bijendra Singh asked him to join as the host of the show. The actor said, “That day, I was told I would never have to look back—and I didn’t.”
In the same interaction at the awards show, Annu Kapoor shared his thoughts on the evolution of cinema and the growth of OTT platforms. The actor said, “I don’t watch TV at all—not movies, not news channels.” Kapoor also shared thoughts on how he is concerned about the decline in Hindi and English languages in today’s speakers. The veteran star believes today’s people lack a mix of ‘thought-provoking’ observations and ‘intriguing anecdotes’ that used to interest the audience.
