All about Raima Sen’s journey

The actress is Raima Sen. She is the great granddaughter of Princess of Cooch Behar. In 1999, Raima Sen made her Bollywood debut with the film Godmother. It featured Shabana Azmi in the lead role. It was a biographical drama inspired by Santokben Jadeja. From there on she featured in films like Parineeta, Dus and more but not as a leading actress. She couldn’t be the crowd drawing lead heroine in Hindi films. But she did follow the footsteps of her grandmother Suchitra Sen and ventured into Bengali films. Her mother Moon Moon Sen also is a popular actress. Despite coming from a regal family and popular names in the film industry, Raima Sen has had a struggleful journey as an actress. In a recent interview with entertainment news site Etimes, Raima Sen opened up about her journey in Hindi as well as Bengali cinema. Raima Sen shared her opinion and said that the Hindi film industry made interesting and progressive films back in the days when her grandmother was a star. But she never got good roles, said Raima Sen. Adding, “I’m glad that the Hindi film industry is changing, and apart from women, every character is playing an important role now. Even supporting actors are playing meaty roles, and the digital medium is not just a hero-based platform. Having said that, I don’t think that people will stop going to the theatres. People enjoy watching films, and even Hindi films have interesting content.”

Raima Sen has also tried her hands at web series. She has been a part of web series like The Last Hour, Black Widows, Big Girl’s Don’t Cry and more.
