Aamir Khan’s elder cousin Tariq Ali Khan was a rockstar during the 1970s in Indian cinema. He was considered one of the competitors for Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, and other top stars of their time. When Tariq started doing movies, within a short span of time he became the audience’s favourite. Some of his movies include Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Hum Kisise Kum Naheen and several others. Overall, Tariq acted in at least 12 movies. He was loved so much there at one point, he even left Rishi Kapoor behind. He got the tag of a ‘rockstar’.
However, after his last appearance in the movie Mera Damad (1995), Tariq Ali Khan quit acting. In an interview once, Tariq revealed that he never wanted to be an actor. However, the politics in his family pushed him to take up this career. If entertainment news reports are to be believed, Tariq was last known to be working as a supervising executive in a shipment company in Mumabi. He has completely stayed away from the limelight since he quit acting.
Meanwhile, coming to Aamir Khan, the actor has been working in the film industry for over 3 decades now. He has delivered many box office hits and interesting movies for the audience to enjoy.
